Circular Chuppah Hire
Round chuppah
A circular chuppah is a Jewish wedding canopy with a round rather than square top frame. Ours is draped in flowing white fabric and pairs with a matching circular carpeted stage. Because it has no corners, it photographs cleanly from every angle in the room - which is why photographers ask for it - and the enclosing circle echoes the traditional symbolism of the marriage circle.
About the Circular Chuppah
Almost every chuppah ever built has been a square. Four poles, four corners, a roof. Ours is a circle, and the difference it makes in a room is much larger than it sounds on paper.
The practical effect is photographic. A square chuppah has four good angles and several awkward ones, where a corner post cuts across the couple or the roofline goes flat and hard in a wide shot. A circle has no bad angle. Your photographer can move all the way around the ceremony without having to work around the structure, and the guests seated to the sides get the same view as the guests in the middle.
The symbolic effect matters to a lot of the couples who choose it. A Jewish wedding is already full of circles – the encircling under the chuppah, the ring itself – and standing inside one rather than under a square feels, as more than one couple has told us afterwards, more enclosed and more intentional.
We build a matching circular carpeted stage for it, which is the pairing we would recommend if the budget allows. A round chuppah on a square stage fights itself; on a circular stage the whole ceremonial area reads as one designed object.

Circular Chuppah - your questions
Two reasons. Photographically it has no bad angle, so your photographer is not working around corner posts and guests at the sides get the same view as those in the centre. Symbolically, the circle echoes the encircling and the ring that the ceremony is already built around.
Yes, and we would recommend it. A round chuppah sitting on a square stage visually fights itself; on the matching circular stage the whole ceremonial area reads as one piece.
It is sized to hold the couple, the Rabbi and the immediate wedding party comfortably. Exact dimensions depend on the format we bring, so send us your venue and expected party size and we will confirm what fits.
Very well. The circular top frame takes a floral wreath beautifully - a full ring of blooms crowning the structure is one of the most photographed things we do.
At venues across the UK including several London five-star hotels. Adrienne and Marc Fresko, whose review appears on our home page, chose it specifically for the round shape and the finish inside and out.
