The Single Birch Chuppah is a Jewish wedding canopy built from hand-selected silver birch, with one trunk standing at each corner. It is the lighter of our two birch frames - airier and less architectural than the Triple Birch - and suits intimate rooms, garden ceremonies and schemes where the chuppah should sit within the setting rather than dominate it.
About the Single Birch Chuppah
We hold two birch chuppahs, and the difference between them is simply how many poles stand at each corner. This is the single: one hand-selected silver birch trunk per corner, four in total.
It is the lighter of the two. With one pole at each corner you see through the structure rather than at it, and the ceremony sits inside the setting rather than under an architectural frame. In a garden, an orangery or a room with a view worth keeping, that openness is usually the right call.
When to choose the single over the triple
Choose the single if the room is intimate, if the chuppah stands in front of something you would rather not obscure, or if the floral scheme is loose and seasonal rather than a full covering.
Choose the Triple Birch if the room is grand and the single would look under-scaled in it, or if your florist is planning a heavy installation that needs the extra structure to carry it.
If you are unsure, tell us the room and send a photograph. Getting this wrong in either direction is the most common thing we are asked to correct, and it is easily avoided.
Poles, canopy and finish
The birch is hand-selected, so no two frames are identical – the bark, the taper and the natural curve of each trunk vary. That is the point of the material rather than a tolerance we are apologising for.
The canopy can be left bare, draped in fabric, covered in floristry, or made from your own family tallit. Square and rectangular formats are available.

Yes. Birch is one of the two best floral bases we hold. If the scheme is a full covering, though, the triple carries it better - tell your florist which frame you have booked so they can plan the weight.

No, and deliberately so. The birch is hand-selected, so the bark, taper and natural curve of each trunk differ. That variation is the material doing its job.
